The legal proceedings for the lawsuit filed by BTS members V and Jungkook against the operator of the YouTube channel "Taldeok Camp" have commenced. The initial hearing for this case, which seeks 90 million KRW (approximately 68,000 USD) in damages, will take place today, August 23.

Judge Kwan Hyeong Lee of the Seoul Western District Court's Civil Division 12 will preside over the hearing, scheduled for 10:10 AM. The lawsuit, initiated by BigHit Music, the agency representing BTS, accuses the operator of "Taldeok Camp" of defamation and other damages.

The lawsuit was filed in March, demanding 90 million KRW in compensation. BigHit Music confirmed on the 16th that the legal action was underway. Earlier, BigHit Music had also filed a criminal complaint in 2022 against "Deduction Asylum" for defamation and obstruction of business. This investigation was briefly paused but resumed after the personal information of the operator was secured. Additionally, a civil lawsuit for defamation and other illegal actions was filed earlier this year.

"Taldeok Camp" is known for producing sensational and defamatory content about BTS members throughout 2021. On December 29, 2021, BTS's agency took further legal action against individuals spreading defamatory and harmful content about the group. The agency emphasized its commitment to taking strict legal measures against those who damage the reputation of its artists.

In response to the defamatory content, V expressed his intention to pursue legal action against the "Taldeok Camp" operator. He remarked on December 20, 2021, after encountering the offending content, that he would proceed with the lawsuit to address the harm caused and support all affected individuals.
